M'luru Lit Fest 6.0 starts Tomorrow | Frontlist

The sixth edition of the Mangaluru Lit Fest will take place at the TMA Pai International Convention Centre from Friday to January 21. Sunil Kulkarni, Trustee of the Bharat Foundation, announced that the festival will have 29 sessions with over 60 writers and speakers participating in two forums. He informed reporters on Wednesday that Vanita Seva Samaj, Dharwad, which has been working to empower women, had been chosen for this year's 'The Idea of Bharath' award.

Lakshmisha Tolpadi, winner of the Sahitya Akademi award; Radhe Jaggi, renowned artiste; Dhananjaya Singh, member secretary, Indian Institute of Social Science Research (ICSSR); Lt Gen Dr Vinod Khandare, adviser to the defence minister; and N Vinaya Hegde, chancellor, Nitte deemed to be university, will be among the inaugural guests.

Representatives from Mythic Society will attend. Alva's students would perform Manipuri dance, while renowned Bharatanatyam artist Radhe Jaggi will perform at 5 p.m. on Friday, he said.

"Vandana Rai of Karkala will organise Chinnara Angala for children in order to screen films, cultivate children's literary tastes, and pique parents' interest in storytelling. Highlights of the lit fest include a book sale, a Tulu script learning session, clay sculpture, rural games and interactions with authors and famous persons (chat rooms).

Trustee Shreeraj Gudi announced that there will be special sessions dedicated to the three Kannada literary masters: Kuvempu, Bendre, and Panje Mangesh Rao.

On January 20, General Vinod Khandare and former Indian ambassador Ashok Sajjanhar will hold a discussion titled "Why Bharat Matters: Narratives of the New Global Order." Capt Sajita Nair, Major Rama Sharma, and Lt Col Ankita Srivastava will provide a seminar on creativity, womanhood, and uniform at 11 a.m. At 12 p.m., there will be a session on startups: A Path to a New Journey.
